Should someone try and break into your home, you and the authorities will be alerted right away. Even just hearing the sound of the alarm will keep a thief from trying to enter the home at all. 

Keep Your Identity Safe

A lot of people will place their name on the mailbox or throw away junk mail with all their personal information on it. Chances are you throw away everything from credit card offers to medical documents that contain information you wouldn't want a burglar to have. This provides plenty of information for a thief to gain access to your life. Make sure to shred any documents before you place them in your trash cans. This will ensure no one is able to retrieve any information off your junk mail. You also want to remove your name off your mailbox so a burglar doesn't know who lives there.
