Curb Appeal Tips To Help Sell Your Home Quickly

If your thinking of putting your house on the market, or you have had your home listed for some time, you may want to think about adding curb appeal to your home to help make it more appealing to a potential buyer. Adding curb appeal is something you can do without spending a lot of money, and it will be worth the extra work in the end. See below for some curb appeal ideas you can do.

Paint Your Front Door

Painting your front door a bold color can help to attract potential buyers. Something like a bright red, blue, or even yellow are all great colors. If you aren't keen on a bright, bold color, then just update the color you already have on your door to make it look like new. Be sure to use an oil-based paint so it's easy to keep clean, and prep your door first by sanding it down and cleaning it so the new paint has a nice new surface to adhere to. Adding new hardware to your newly painted front door can also give it added appeal.

Clean Up Flower Beds

Clean up the flower beds around your yard. Get rid of weeds, and split up flowers that have gotten too large -- you can replant the extra elsewhere around your yard. Also cut back shrubs and bushes that look overgrown. If you have mulch in your flower beds, add new mulch to the space, as your old mulch may be faded. If your flower beds have rock, add more rock where necessary.

Cut Low-Hanging Tree Limbs

If you have trees blocking the view of your house, trim back limbs for a clearer view for potential buyers. It's hard to get a good look at a house if it has limbs blocking the view. Those limbs may be a turn-off for a buyer. Those low hanging limbs can also be a hazard, so it's a good idea to get rid of them even if you aren't planning on moving. If your tree limbs are too large to cut back on your own, be sure to hire a tree trimmer to do the work for you to prevent injuries.

Add A New Mailbox

Adding a new mailbox can help add curb appeal. Get rid of that rusted piece of metal or busted plastic mailbox and replace it with something a little newer. Adding new house numbers to your house is also a good idea to help add appeal. Add bold numbers onto your house for clear address numbers that can be easily seen. Adding a small planter near your house numbers adds a decorative appeal as well.

Adding curb appeal, as in the ideas listed above, can be done inexpensively, and may help sell your home fast.
